STATE OF THE LAKE ENVIRONMENT REPORTS - 2001
The Farren Lake Property Owners Association, through the Rideau Valley
Conservation Authority and the Trillium Foundation, sponsors the Watershed Watch
Program. This is an environmental monitoring and awareness program. The
objectives are to collect reliable environmental data to document current water
quality conditions and to use the data as an essential educational tool to
encourage shoreline residents to become personal stewards of their lake and to
adopt sound practices aimed at preserving and protecting water quality.
Eight lakes were tested in the summer of 2001 and the detailed reports are
now available through the RVCA website (details below). Here is a summary of the
scoring results for the eight lakes. Remember that the score is an average of
seven items with the maximum (best) score being four.
